I hate that to read journals with black backgrounds with white lettering I have to cut and paste into a word document just to read it (or zoom it to 200% bigger - which is annoying when I have several tabs open in my broswer).

I have a similar problem with light-on-dark, and I use Readability to fix it — might be worth a look, if you haven't come across it before.
